Giga-Books is built by gig workers, for gig workers. We take your financial data seriously. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Giga-Books is a financial tracking and tax calculation application operated by Giga-Sphere OS, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). Our registered address is on file with the Nevada Secretary of State. Our primary contact email for privacy matters is privacy@gigasphere.io.
Giga-Books is designed specifically for 1099 independent contractors, gig workers, owner-operators, and self-employed individuals ("Giganauts") to track income, mileage, deductions, and estimated tax obligations.
If you choose to connect a bank account, Giga-Books uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. to access your financial data. See Section 5 for full details on how Plaid works and what data is accessed.

We do not use your financial data to serve you advertisements. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models outside of improving Giga-Books specifically.

All service providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Giga-Sphere OS, LLC, our users, or the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice in the app before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.
We may share your information in other ways if you explicitly direct us to or give us your consent.
Connecting your bank account is entirely optional. Giga-Books works fully without it — you can enter income and expenses manually at any time.
If you choose to connect a bank account, we use Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to access your financial institution on your behalf. By connecting an account, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
Giga-Books does not access or store your bank login credentials. Authentication is handled entirely by Plaid through their secure tokenized system.

You may disconnect your bank account at any time within the Giga-Books app. Upon disconnection, we will delete the associated Plaid access token. Historical transaction data already imported may be retained per the retention schedule in Section 8 unless you request deletion.
Your data is stored in the United States on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the US East (Virginia) region. We implement the following security measures:

Product analytics (PostHog) collect anonymous usage data to improve the app. You may opt out of analytics tracking within the app's Settings > Privacy menu.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the service. Specifically:
Giga-Books is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly. Your continued use of Giga-Books after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you may delete your account at any time.
